Special Education Staff Training Module on "Ergonomic Risk Reduction"

A new training module has been developed to address "Ergonomic Risk Reduction for Special Education Staff".  The module is ideal for use during in-service training days and focuses on factors that can be controlled to reduce the potential for back, shoulder, and knee injury when working with students.  The module provides tips on:

•  Reducing uncontrolled student body movements
•  Improving body mechanics of the teaching staff
•  Identification of high-risk work conditions and alternatives to reduce the potential
   for ergonomic stressors
